GOLF COVID-19 UPDATE
It's Saturday and 29 degrees...not the best day to golf, but we've had a little bit of play the past few weeks as we ride the spring roller coaster of temperatures. You can't blame anyone wanting to get outside to get some spring air and play a few holes these days.
I wanted to update you on how we are dealing with the Coronavirus here at the golf shop on a daily basis. We will be constantly reassessing and updating our practices as the public health situation continues to evolve. At the forefront of our best practices below is of course the health and safety of our membership, staff and our community. I'm sure you've seen your share of precautionary practices so i apologize for the redundancy of some of these points below.
Precautions and Sanitizing Practices*Extra precautions are being taken inside and outside the golf shop, the starter area, our cart washing area and with all of our equipment including our golf carts of all types.
*Common areas, surfaces, etc. are being wiped down and disinfected multiple times per day.
*All carts are being washed thoroughly after use and disinfected prior to people using them.
*We have sanitizing stations on our shop counter, the starter desk and outside our back bagroom door for when golfers finish their round.
*Our employees will wear gloves when handling your golf bag or other equipment. Once you take your bag from the bagroom or after you play a round we are asking you to retain your bag until the end of the restrictions. It's a good time of year to go through it anyway, and remove that old Gatorade or rotten apple left in the ball pocket :). Wipe down your whole bag especially the handle.
*Bring your own sanitizer when you come to play and use it frequently.
*We are "social distance ready" and are staging carts atleast 6 feet apart for people to have adequate distancing space. Keep distancing in mind when dealing with other members or staff, on or off the course.
Golf
*Do not golf if you are sick to prevent someone else from being at risk.
*Per usual, If you come to play, please check in with the golf staff. We need to know you are on the premises for safety reasons.
*We encouraging walking but if you take a cart, we are limiting carts to 1 person unless the second rider is from the same household.
*Bring wipes if you use a cart and continue to wipe down the main areas like the steering wheel, cup holders and seats.
*Leave the pin in - no need to touch it. At the moment, the grounds crew is working on modifying the cup itself to minimize contact with the hole liner and flagstick. This should be taken care of over the next few days. Bunker rakes have not been put outside yet.
*You can always have a 2 or 3 foot gimme range, especially this time of year when scores aren't being posted. Score posting begins April 1st (unless they push that back).
*Caddie operations have been temporarily suspended.
*The golf simulator is also closed.
*The short game areas are open (weather permitting).
*The driving range will open per usual on the artificial turf strip as weather permits with spaced out hitting stations.
*Golf Instruction is still taking place outside with social distancing. Call the golf staff to schedule a spring tune up as the temps get warmer.
Food & Beverage
*The club is offering a take out program for both food and beverages. Menus are in the golf shop and menu items are available for curbside pickup and on the golf course.
We want to provide you with safest form of recreation (and distraction) to help our membership get through these uncertain times. Please call the golf shop if you have questions or concerns about any safety issues regarding coming to play golf!
